LACN is one of 19 regional lumber and building material dealer organizations that is affiliated with the National Lumber & Building Material Dealers Association (NLBMDA) with headquarters in Washington DC.  NLBMDA, with the assistance of the regional organizations, represents its members in the national public policy arena with emphasis on industry promotion and protection.  NLBMDA is active in legislative, regulatory, standard-setting and other government or private bodies in the development of laws, regulations and policies affecting lumber and building material dealers.  With industry updates, a annual national legislative conference and a political action committee, NLBMDA works on behalf of more than 6,000 members nationwide.
